Aimie Apigian, MD
Dr. Aimie Apigian is a Board-Certified Preventive Medicine Physician specializing in Addiction Medicine. From her work with addictions, she has learned how the nervous system is key to physical, mental and emotional health. While most people have a nervous system wired for insecurity, inflammation and disease, the body’s own survival systems can be reverse engineered to instead promote health, performance and connection. Graduating medical school from Loma Linda University, she then underwent 3 years of General Surgery residency training before switching to Addiction Medicine and establishing herself as a medical expert in trauma and attachment issues and its effects on the body. Motivated by her own adoption experience and health challenges, she brings a truly integrative approach by combining principles of functional medicine and body-based trauma therapies into her medical work for optimizing the nervous system for optimal performance, health and connection in kids and adults.
